February 26, 2014 – CLIFTON N. MILLER

Clifton N. Miller has filed a $7 Million wrongful death medical malpractice lawsuit filed in federal court against local clinic and local hospital. (Harris v. United States of America, Coffee County Medical Group d/b/a United Regional Medical Center, et.als., US District Court for the Eastern District of TN, Case No. 4:13-cv-30).

The lawsuit filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District Court of TN by Henry & McCord and the Law Offices of Jonathan R. Bunn, seeks $7 million in compensatory damages as a result of medical malpractice. The Complaint alleges that the defendants failed to act with ordinary and reasonable care in accordance with the recognized standard of acceptable professional practice in their profession in the community resulting in the death of Kenneth C. Harris, who was 47 years of age, married to Julee Harris, and was the sole supporter of his wife and three minor children. This complicated matter also requires naming the United States of America as a Defendant in that the Public Health Service Act of 1994 and the Federally Supported Health Center Assistance Act of 1992 provides that the remedies set forth under the Federal Tort Claims Act are the exclusive means for resolving tort claims against employees of the Public Health Service (for employees acting within the scope of their employment).
